It doesn't give off the 80 lumens that my Inova X03 gives, but, given it's size and the fact that it takes any AA battery you put into it, that isn't a problem. I have been buying LED flashlights for probably 9 years and this is one of the best. It doesn't give off the 80 lumens that my Inova X03 gives, but, given it's size and the fact that it takes any AA battery you put into it, that isn't a problem. I have dropped my flashlight on concrete floors time after time and have even have the confidence that I could use the barrel of the flashlight to drive brads into a piece of wood without adversely affecting it's operation. It gives off a pure white light and is idealy suited general illumination to a distance of about 20 feet. Among other things, I use my Luxeon JR. for reading, for which it is well suited. I have given out several of these as presents and everyone seems to love them. I use energizer Nickel Metal Hydride rechargable batteries in mine and get reasonable use before needing to recharge. As one who has had many different LED flashlights over the last several years, I can confidently tell you that this is a great little flashlight which you won't regret buying and owning. Streamlight Flashlights aren't the cheapest flashlights, but then you get what you pay for.
