Detalles del Producto
Descripción:
This telephoto zoom lens is designed with Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer technology while retaining compactness and lightness, in response to demands of photographers. This high zoom ratio lens is equivalent to a focal length of 88 - 400mm in the 35mm format , and the image stabilizer effect equivalent to a shutter speed about 4 stops faster than the same size lens without Image Stabilizer. In other words, if the slowest shutter speed you could formerly hold a 250mm lens steadily was 1/250th of a second, with Canon's 4-stop stabilization correction, you could hand-hold at shutter speeds as slow as 1/15th of a second. It also uses a UD-glass lens element to correct chromatic aberration for excellent image quality throughout the zoom range. This EF-S telephoto lens with great features delivers excellent performance at an affordable price for all photographers.

A great deal
Puntos Fuertes: IS, image quality, good range, light, price
Puntos Débiles: AF, Small aperture, cheap construction
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this lens considering of its price range. It is very useful on a 1.6x body and I'm using it even more often than my standard zoom lens now. Highly recommanded!

Good low-cost telephoto choice. IS is great.
Puntos Fuertes: Image Stabilization. Low price. Decent build.
Puntos Débiles: Slow AF. Small aperture. EF-S only mount.
The No. 1 reason to buy this lens is image stabilization. I wouldn't buy any telephoto lens without IS nowadays. Compare any two pictures taken at 250mm and 1/15s, with and without IS, and you can tell the difference easily even on the tiny camera LCD. The No. 2 reason is price. If you are not planning to upgrade to a full-frame camera soon, this is one of the most affordable telephoto lenses...

You do get what you pay for
Puntos Fuertes: Cheap, light, small, good range
Puntos Débiles: Cheap construction, slightly soft
Only 2 weeks usage, but I am generally pleased with the lens. It's not great, but it is a budget level lens, so expectations should not be high. Considered the 70-300IS also, but at 2x cost, did not think it was worth it, and prefer to have 55 on the short end rather than 70.
Recommended, for what it is.

It works!!!!
Puntos Fuertes: Light, cheap, good range. IS is great.
Puntos Débiles: only one thing is the color is off
With this price, I didn't expect much from it. Surprisingly, it's build well and light. Good for outdoor ONLY! The images are not sharp enough. But it has good range, and that's really helpful. One thing that bother me the most is the color is off even in a good bright day.
Overall, It's good to start with this lens. I'm looking to buy a better one, though.
