Puntos Fuertes: Ease of use, programmable screens. Virtual partner lets you pace against the clock or (better) yourself over the same course. Backlighting, Included software
Puntos Débiles: Side buttons aren't that great/easy to use. Not fond of the watchband (velcro on older model was better, I think).
Resumen: I've had my 205 for about a month and have run with it about 15 or so runs. I think it's a much better unit than it's predecessor. I like the added features of the virtual partner and mapping. The USB interface is far superior and much faster than the old parallel port in the 201.
I ran about 2,500 miles on the 201 and hope to do far more with this one. I think if you're serious about training this is a great (and much better than anything out there) gps device. 6 marathons and counting and I wouldn't run with anything but a garmin.

Puntos Fuertes: large screen, quick to get signal, fits nicely
Puntos Débiles: sidebuttons difficult to use while working out, still a little heavy (compared to a regular watch but obviously this device does way more)
Resumen: This GPS unit is much better looking than previous models, as it isn't just a normal GPS unit turned sideways and attached to your wrist. It also gets a signal much faster than previous models (like the Foretrex 101 that my running partner had, which took up to 5 mins sometimes to acquire a signal before we could start our runs!) so it's very convenient and feels more like a watch. I also personally disagree with one of the previous reviews in terms of the wristband...I have very small wrists and this fits great, and isn't as sweat-inducing as the velcro band models are. It's too bad that it isn't designed for swimming (although it is waterproof) because it would be awesome for ocean swims for triathlon training. I love it, and feel like I'm getting more out of my workouts now that I have it...a great buy!

Puntos Fuertes: Easy set up. Log/track work outs.
Puntos Débiles: A little bulky. Takes time to find signal.
Resumen: I am just starting to train for a half marathon. This tool has proven not only useful, but motivating. I look forward to beating my previous times and then syncing the unit with my computer to review data. Great for those of us just getting back into fitness.

Puntos Fuertes: The information gathered by the unit is very useful in tracking workouts. Satellite signal reception seems to be very good.
Puntos Débiles: Way points set on the unit cannot be uploaded and displayed on your PC. The battery is not user servicable. The software that comes with the unit for your PC is pretty limited in capability.
Resumen: I use the unit for tracking my walking routines and the information gathered is very useful. I'm actually walking more since I got the unit because of that information. The unit doesn't come with an adapter to charge in an automobile so you'll need one of those when electricity isn't readily available. The rubber band can be difficult when wet or damp. Those with small wrists may find it doesn't fit well. The audible alarm or beep is useless as it simply isn't loud enough to be heard by the user, especially when there is any background noise at all. A vibrate feature would be an excellent addition. The control buttons are difficult at first but as you use the unit more and more I found them not to be a problem. I think the unit is a valuable work out tool. I can't imagine walking without one now that I've used one.

Puntos Fuertes: Lot of information - slice and dice it any way you want to
Puntos Débiles: Bulk
Resumen: In preparation for my first marathon, some of my friends were using it, and I got hooked. Lots of nice features for tracking performance and pacing (my biggest weakness) really have helped out.

Puntos Fuertes: Easy to work, Light weight, Stores memory on computer
Puntos Débiles: Takes time to get signal, but will pick it up fast if you are out away from trees.
Resumen: I just started training for a marathon. I bought this watch to help me keep my pace up and to shred a few minutes off of my time. I love how the watch keeps data, places data on the computer and shows me exactly where I am in my training. I love it and would purchase again.

Forerunner 205
Puntos Fuertes: It has more sports, training options, display screens, data fields and customizations. Smaller footprint than previous model. Faster downloads with usb connection.
Puntos Débiles: Display harder to view, battery life shorter and doesnt display remaining hours, even with latest sirfstar III GPS software signal pickup is same & no instant switch button for units (m/mi.)as in 201.
Resumen: I would purchase the Forerunner 201 over the 205 because there isn't a dramatic improvement between models. Most important note is that the GPS signal gain has not improved at all. Wait for the next model after the 205, maybe that will be a better improvement in signal aquisitions.

Puntos Fuertes: nice looks, great features, easy to use.
Puntos Débiles: not as easy to read while running as the 201, hard to push side buttons.
Resumen: The Forerunner 205 is a much better unit than the previous generation 201 GPS receiver. It's sleeker looking, the display screens are all user configurable and it seems to track the GPS satellites better. The large stop/start and lap buttons on the face are nice feature, they're much easier to hit than the side mounted buttons of the 201. However, the 205 is more difficult to read or see while running because of the smaller display fonts and the angle at which it sits on your wrist than is the 201.

Puntos Fuertes: Fits well, great accracy, nice online software to upload to(Garmin connect) large screen many things to display, many settings, virtual partner.
Puntos Débiles: crappy CD software, takes around 30 seconds to get position before run after you set it up. No heart rate-305 has this.
Resumen: Ive owned this thing for about 4 months and its worked GREAT. no major problems yet, It is verry accurate and gets a signal from everywere. Cool to analyze workouts and races.

Puntos Fuertes: Simple, reliable
Puntos Débiles: Kinda clunky in size, little slow to lock signal
Resumen: This has worked as advertised, and has been very reliable. It's been very useful for tracking pace speed when running, and also works well to track bike trips. Very cool to see the route when you get home!

Puntos Fuertes: Small, newer version has increased accuracy, easy to use
Puntos Débiles: Battery only lasts 10 hours, some features too complicated to bother with
Resumen: I have been using Garmin products for several years and, based on very positive experiences in the past, decided to purchase yet another. The 205 model is more comfortable and gets significantly better satellite readings than did the 105. Unfortunately, the battery duration is five hours less. This is inconvenient but not impossible. One further suggestion: the current pace time can jump around, lap pace is usually more reliable unless you are changing speeds within your run.

Puntos Fuertes: Very accured.
Puntos Débiles: none
Resumen: I love my Garmin Forerunner 205 GPS because I run alone it helps me stay on pace. I love that I don't have to look for a mile marker to begin my runs I just start running. My forerunner tells me everything I need, miles, pace and time.

Puntos Fuertes: Very accurate distances, lots of useful features
Puntos Débiles: Nothing major that I've discovered yet
Resumen: I purchased this product about a week ago, even though my wife still doesn't understand why I needed to spend that kind of money on "a fancy stopwatch". I've taken it on 4 or 5 runs so far, and absolutely love it. Before, I was going to the USATF site to map out my runs, and then printing a word document that I carried with me on my runs so I knew where to turn and how far I had been. Now it just takes a quick glance to see how far you've gone, your current pace (very useful when training for a marathon or any other race), and a slew of other customizable views. Overall, I would give this product a 9/10. The only thing that seems to be a little off is the virtual trainer option (you can run "against yourself"). I've only tried it twice, but both times had me walking around in circles so find the course starting point. Other than that minor hiccup, though, this is a great product, and well worth the money for runners of all levels.

Puntos Fuertes: Very simple to use. Lots of options that I have not even tried yet. Easy to read display. Very accurate.
Puntos Débiles: None so far...
Resumen: I just received my Forerunner and went for two medium distance runs of 8 and 11 miles. It was really cool to look down at my wrist and have the real-time speed and distance that I had run. Also you can program the Forerunner to do several different types of intervals. I am definately satisfied with this product.

Puntos Fuertes: Convenient, simple to use and quick to program
Puntos Débiles: Little large for daughters wrist
Resumen: This item was purchased for my daughter. She has informed me several times how very please she is with the Forerunner 205 GPS Personal Trainer. Her only concern (not a big one) was the size of the item on her wrist. However, we decided that if it was any smaller, it would be harder to read. Over all, we are very satisfied with this item.
