Cobra 148GTL AM/SSB CB Radio
Puntos Fuertes: Very good modulation and good receiving. Very easy to clarify SSB.
Puntos Débiles: Hard to see channel readout when sunlight is on radio
I like my Cobra 148GTL very much and would buy another one again. It works very good with my Fierstik Firefly 4 foot antenna system. I like the fact that it now comes with the microphone plugin is on the front of radio compared to the older models that had the plugin on the left side of the radio. It makes for easier mounting in tighter places.

I had been using my Cobra 148 Gtl at my job; I worked for the County Road Dept. My boss didn’t think to much about the idea. I had a quick disconnect in the cab of the truck. Well we were out on a job down in this valley, when the 140 Cat Grader blew a tire. The grader operator tried to call the shop on a cell phone and couldn’t get out. I told him let me try. I call out of the valley and 25 miles to town, my friend answered and I asked her if she would call the Shop and have them send a Grader tire for a 140. She said she would. That call was as clear as a spring day. I never had the radio modified or changed in any way. I didn’t think I needed it changed it got to where ever I wanted. My boss changed his mind about the radio and was thinking of putting one in each of the 10 trucks. My friend even put one in his Grader so it would save time for the county by me working in one part of the county and him in another. This was time consuming when I had to pack up all my equipment and go find him to see if he had broken down. So the Cobra 148 Gtl more than paid for itself. It is a great CB.
